Forgot to bring it up in the comments for the episode proper, but WTF with Dan Patrick(?), or anyone questioning what “the shed” MacGuffin is in the piece, as if it’s some intangible, Lewis Carroll like thing only Will Ferrell would know about.
Did he think that the majority of viewers/listeners were so ingrained in urban city culture that a simple yard tool shed that’s small enough for children to climb on, but big enough to cause a disaster if the child slips off of that big of an unknown concept!? I get it an ice breaking question but that was…well it seemed like something you’d see asked in an SNL talk show parody sketch ;)
Scot: I also thought that was weird. It's a shed. We all have sheds. They're low enough to be accessed but high enough to cause danger for youngins. That's it.
Yup. It couldn’t have been something where the Dad had to assist them getting off or away from. Plus the comedy is in his escalation to them, and ease in going back to banal suburban conversations as he’s doing something else, so it had to be something akin to a shed.
