Perfect example of how your discussion of the What Is Burn Notice? can apply to other entertainment avenues in more recent years.
Sometime last year Greg Gutfeld had a on the road show where Tucker Carlson and Dana Pierno were on the panel with Kat Timpf and one other person.
There was a goofy end segment about something embarrassing about flatulence being said about Chris Evans by an ex! Conversation was more about would anyone on the panel do the actions Evans was alleged to take part in. Pure near the end of a comedy talk show nonsense. But neither Kat, Dana or Tucker had ever heard of “Chris Evans”!
To be fair, Dana and Tucker’s jobs revolve around politics and social issues, and while Kat should have more of an eye towards pop culture news with the shows she pop up on and issues she discusses, she freely admits to only seeing Adam Sandler movies since the current decade started!
Point being, in the last 14-15 years, Evans, as Steve Rogers (no relation, sadly), Captain America was the title character star of 3, and major plot line character for 4 entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie series (all except for Avengers: Age of of Ultron universally regarded as being in the upper echelon of the 20 plus movie series to date), as well as a couple of cameos (a blink and you will miss him appearance in Thor: The Dark World, and a funny runner in Spider-Man: Homecoming) for easily the biggest cinematic franchise of this century, at least in terms of starting this century (folding in 90’s X-Men and Blade doesn’t count).
And yet there probably are MANY in this country who wouldn’t know Chris Evans from famed movie producer Robert Evans!
Not episode specific, but I don't see a place to ask site-specific questions - maybe I'm just missing that?
Lately I've enjoyed reading the 'transcripts' of the podcasts as they come out - I personally find it much easier to follow lists and rankings via text than via audio. Nothing against your wonderful voices - just a personal preference for reading over listening to consume information.
I was kind of bummed to find that the transcripts only go back to the Season 16 episode. Any chance those can be generated for the older episodes? Or is it something that has to be enabled at recording time?
Charlie: Thanks for the kind words! The Substack interface was very hit-and-miss with tanscripts for a while and weird things were happening when we tried to run them. As you can tell, things have improved. We'll have to go back to see if we can re-run those episodes to get a full transcript. We'd like to have them there.
Turns out it wasn't as bad as I thought.....if you ever do go back these are the seven regular (I didn't look at the interviews, etc) episodes with no transcript: Introductory, Seasons 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 14, 15
Thank you for the leg work. Yep, as I said, it was intermitently working back then. I think there's actually a more recent season that also had a problem (S34?). If we can get these to post, we will. I like having the words sitting there for people.

It certainly crosses through many different spheres. We're not as culturally connected as we used to be.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!
