I’m listening to a podcast cover the show Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip, and they are discussing the Dylan character, a heavyset and at times flustered and unsure of himself rookie. The host referred to him as a “Chris Farley stand in” 😳😑
While sure, one could use those words to describe Farley, after Farley’s insecurities and unsureness became the basis for the Farley Show sketches, but I’m like “Do not insult the legacy of the dearly departed icon! This character most likely takes more cues from a more recent fellow who filled in the Farley-look role, Horatio Sanz!”
OOOF, that is a Big Three Rookie Class for S31! Though here is a question, will The Lonely Island as a group count towards ROY/MVP/LVP discussion, or will Samberg be reaping all their collective awards?
BTW, I said it before but very much digging the pod they are doing with Seth Meyers going through every short they produced for SNL. As of today’s episode they just started coverage of their third year on the show (33, 2007-2008).
Also Tommy John surgery is probably a more apt sports comparison with Maya’s season 30 😉
